Another Menstrual Cycle Problem Website? Really?

Almost every one of my patients with heavy bleeding during their menstrual periods goes to the internet first before coming to see me in the office.  They often spend hours researching their condition – trying to figure out the causes, predict the diagnostic tests the doctor will recommend, look at treatment options (does that sound like you?).

As a physician, I wanted to understand more of what my patients were looking at during their heavy bleeding research.  I started asking them about information they were finding and where they were getting it from.  I started doing a little research of my own.  I looked at the sites they were looking at and here’s what I found:

• Old information – some websites haven’t been updated in 3-5 years!
• Confusing Information
• Websites written in terms that are way too technical – Who can understand that stuff!
• Sometimes inaccurate info
• Little bits of information all over the internet without anything to tie it together.

What was seen as a great idea would often leave many of my patients more in the dark than when they started. The internet needs a fresh new way to look at this problem. We really do need different type of menstrual cycle problem website! We plan to be that NEW website for you!
